This Mini-Kaleidoscope is 2" tall by 3/4" wide. Made of etched and patinaed brass. It has a three-mirror system creating an infinite image. The mirror length is a tiny 1.5" with a powerful magnifying optic and a domed light condenser. The object chamber contains dichroic glass and is liquid filled with silicone creating a fast-moving image.
All small (1 inch) and medium (1.5 inch) kaleidoscopes come with a solid Lucite stand. All Mini-Kaleidoscopes and Ornaments come in custom wooden storage boxes.
Please do not use any metal cleaning solutions or polishes on the body of your kaleidoscope. Doing so will result in the removal of the colorization, patina, and sealer. Brass overtime will oxidize and appear darker. This is a normal occurrence and part of the metals' natural beauty. Keeping your kaleidoscope in a dry environment will slow the process just as a humid environment will accelerate it.
If your scope has a liquid-filled object chamber it’s best to keep it in an environment without extreme temperatures for an extended period of time. The components which make up the insides of your kaleidoscope are high-quality first surface mirror and silicone-filled chambers with lampworked glass which are delicate components. Treat your kaleidoscope kindly and it will continue to provide endless eye candy!
The “Essentials” line of kaleidoscopes that have no etching or color are the only scopes that can be cleaned with a polishing cloth if you wish to remove any oxidation.
